I am a professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Eastern Michigan University, which is in Ypsilanti, MI.

I am the author of More Than A Moment: Contextualizing the Past, Present, and Future of MOOCs, the co-editor of Invasion of the MOOCs: The Promises and Perils of Massive Open Online Courses, and the author of The Process of Research Writing, a research writing textbook. I’m new to Substack, but I’ve been blogging (mostly at stevendkrause.com) for 20+ years.

I write here mostly about academia in general and my fields/disciplines of English Studies and Composition and Rhetoric in particular. For the last couple of years, most of my blog posts have been about Artificial Intelligence and writing pedagogy. I also write sometimes about food, travel, Zepbound, my employer, Michigan, and other random stuff.
